It seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital admiring the most beautiful babies I had ever seen! Here they are 8 years ago:
This raising twins deal has been a lot of fun, but it also has some challenges that are a little different than raising singletons. One of those challenges has been answering the same questions everywhere we go. I used to think I should just carry a handout in my diaper bag with answers to the most frequently asked questions:
1. Yes, they are identical.
2. Yes, I can tell them apart.
3. No, twins do not run in my family.
4. No, they are not on the same schedule.
5. Yes, I knew we were expecting twins, but not until half-way through my pregnancy.
6. 4 lbs. 10 oz. each.
7. 5 1/2 weeks early.
8. Lydia by a minute.
In addition to the FAQ, I’ve been asked some weird ones over the years:
1. Are they Maternal or Paternal? Um, both? Neither?
2. How did you know you were having twins? Well, there’s this new-fangled gadget nowadays called an ultrasound. . .
And my personal favorite:
3. Were you trying for twins? Wow. Um, how exactly do you try for twins? Because that sure sounds like it might be fun!
I should probably stop right there. Happy birthday to the biggest adventures of my life!

what an adorable picture!! i remember that day very well.
also, your last comeback is HILARIOUS. well done. my favourite twin conversations are ones where i end up talking about my ability to produce 2 eggs at a go. sigh.
Were you trying for twins…lololol Oh I love that one! I do swear though that I do not know how twin moms tell them apart as babies. One of my bff’s at church has 2
IDENTICAL girls. My kids would be schizo because I’d have them switched a half dozen times..:))
I got your link fixed btw! Love your blog!
hahaha!!! i am so gonna make a handout! my newest add on will be “yes, all the same dad. thanks.”
thanks for sharing and coming by!
