Last week I found a great deal on denim jackets and decided to get one for each of my girls. I love denim jackets because they can extend the wearing time of so many things, like sundresses, sleeveless tops, etc.
Bryn and Lydia were rushing out the door to meet the bus this morning and as I watched them walking down the driveway in their denim jackets with the collars turned up (because we didn’t take the time to turn them down, not because I’m trying to be ultra-trendy!), backpacks slung over their shoulders, and pony-tails bouncing, I started to FREAK OUT! They look so old and mature! And I don’t want them to be old and mature!
Just yesterday I took this picture of them:

At least I think it was yesterday. Maybe my memory has failed me. And here’s another one, I’m sure I took it yesterday:
This one was taken at my sister’s wedding, just yesterday (or was it 5 years ago? No, it was definitely yesterday because there’s no way it was 5 years ago):

And just the day before that, I took this one:

Oh my. Time is going too quickly. Can I please, please, please freeze time right here and forever have two 8 year olds and a 3 year old? Please? As soon as they get home from school I am burning those denim jackets and digging out the pink polka-dot jackets from last spring. No kids of mine are allowed to grow up that fast!

Hi, Girly Mom!! You are a great word crafter! Your gals are SO cute………and are so blessed to have such a fantastic mom [and dad]! Hopefully, some day we’ll see you again. In the meantime, enjoy those girls in their denim jackets. Blessings!
