Happy List!

I’ve been feeling a little down in the dumps lately, thanks to really crummy weather, a bad head cold, sleepless nights, whiny children, and several other factors that are creating stress. Yuck. So today, I’m writing a happy list in the hopes of feeling happier at the end!

1. Strawberries. I just ate a piece of leftover strawberry pie and it was delicious.

2. Conversations with Ellie. This morning we had this conversation:
Me: Ellie, do you know Mama loves you?
Ellie: yup.
Me: Ellie, do you know Mama thinks you’re special?
Ellie: yup.
LONG PAUSE
Ellie: What about cute?
Me: Ellie, do you know Mama thinks you’re cute?
Ellie: yup.
Then she hopped off my lap and went about her day.

3. Our piano teacher. We have the most wonderful piano teacher. Not only is she a great musician and teacher, I am convinced she loves my girls and that is a great combo.

4. Daisies. My Shasta daisies that I planted last year are growing nicely and I can see a whole lot of buds. I love daisies!

5. New babies. A good friend of mine had her baby over the weekend and I can’t believe how many other friends/family members are pregnant right now. And everybody is having boys! Lots of fun.

And finally, here is a picture of my almost 4 year old, looking serene and gentle and like she could never tear the house apart in record time or otherwise drive her mama nuts:

What a great idea! I too have a 3 year old and know of what you speak! In fact, my in-laws are coming this weekend and I wish that I could quarantine my kids until they get here! Thanks for inspiring me to set the tone of the day early – with happy thoughts!

    Have a great day!
