This time of year I find myself spending a whole lot of time in the bleachers at the city park. My two older girls are playing softball for the second year and we are all loving it!
Last night as I watched them play, I found myself listening to the sounds around me: The players on the field chant: “Hey batter, hey batter, hey batter, SA-WING!” The *PING* of the bat is followed by a mother yelling, “She hit it! She actually hit the ball!” and a father yelling, “HustleHustleHustle!” The first base coach hollers, “Take two, take two” and the opposing coach hollers, “Throw to second, throw to second!” The whole scene repeats itself over and over for nearly two hours as we watch these girls play with such passion! The hilarious part about it is that most of the girls are so small they can hardly lift the bat and their helmets keep falling into their eyes. Doesn’t it all just scream “Summertime!!”? Love it!
Now for a contest. Sometimes I forget that my twins really do look a lot alike. Bryn and Lydia had their team pictures taken a few weeks ago. When I got their individual shots back, I was shocked. Those of you who know my kids, do you want to take a guess at who is who?

Vicki, you know I can never tell your girls apart in person and I hate it. I realy like to be able to call a child by the correct name. That is so important. I had a strange experience the other day when I looked down at one of my girls laying on the couch and could not figure out which one it was and mine are not even twins. Sometimes Sarah and Alissa do look very much alike. Now Kaitlyn and Michael are a little easier to tell apart but I don’t know how much longer that will last. Michael likes growing his hair a little longer these days (so he can swing his head and his hair moves-skater style I guess). Anyway my guess is Brynn with the pink bat and Lydia on the right (it would help if I could remember who always wore pink and who was always in purple). I’ll be watching for your answer.

i’m going to guess Bryn on the left…but to be honest i really don’t have a clue.
I have had several people call or email me their guess, but none of them is brave enough to commit to it in front of everyone. So for all you chickens out there who won’t leave your guess in public (Dad, Kimmie), I have this to say: Bawk, bawk, bawk!
The answer is Lydia is on the left and Bryn is on the right. If you are correct, congratulations, if you are wrong, don’t feel bad. I was fooled twice by these pictures, not once. Twice.
aw man, i wanted to guess Lydia on the left, because i remembered you used to say she was always on the left, but then i guessed that maybe you mixed them up to trick us.
but the fact remains that i really have no idea.
