Church Campout

This weekend was our annual church campout. You probably know by now that I am not a fan of camping. The church campout, however, is a little different. Our church is full of fun people who know how to have a good time. The weekend was spent telling stories around the campfire, playing scrabble, eating brownies, going on scavenger hunts, and a whole lot of talking and laughing with my friends.

On Saturday afternoon, the sun came out so we set up a slip-and-slide. But not just any slip-and-slide. Go big or go home, that’s our church motto. So we went big. Check out this get-up:

20 feet wide by 100 feet long:

The kids thought they had died and gone to heaven:

A few overgrown kids got in on the action too:

Walking up that hill wore these kids out!

Ellie showing off her new swimsuit ($1.00 at a yard sale. . .SCORE!)

A fun and memorable weekend indeed! Hope your weekend was a good one!

Hey Vicki, our church retreat was this weekend too and wouldn’t you know we also do a similar, very cool slip and slide. It wasn’t as wide, but looks like it was as long. Adults and kids alike take advantage of it (and who wouldn’t want to?) :) So much fun!
