See this little girl?

I believe she’s a planet shaker in a little girl’s body.
How about her:

Within her lies the potential to transform her village.
Check out these two:

I just wonder what the future holds for them. Bible scholars? Evangelists? Community leaders willing to address the poverty in their neighborhood?
And then there’s this one:

She stole my heart from day 1. Her smile is contagious, her personality so warm, and she’s so strong. I watched the muscles in her legs flex when she played volleyball. Only 10 years old, but potential beyond measure. Maybe a career as an elite athlete or a coach??
And her?

No question in my mind that the hand of God is on her. Who could she become? How will she be transformed? What influence will she have on those around her?
I could go on and on. Despite the fact that I’ve been writing about this trip for nearly a month, I feel like I’ve barely gone below the tip of the iceberg. So many more stories, so many more pictures. My journal is full of my thoughts and reflections, my ideas and responses to all that I’ve seen.
Here’s what I know: Poverty and human trafficking are issues beyond what one organization can address. And here’s what I’ve learned: These issues can only be addressed one child at a time.
I read a quote one time that went something like this:
When I see a child, I am struck by two things:
respect for who he is, and awe for who he may become.
That quote became very real to me throughout this trip. These children have experienced difficulties that no human should have to endure. They have my respect. But I also stand in awe of their potential. The future is a brighter place for these children, thanks to Destiny Rescue and other organizations like them. I’ve decided that rather than allowing myself to be paralyzed by the vastness of this issue, I am committed to helping one child at a time.
One more post to come. . .see you tomorrow!
